Ahhh…the 2024 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival will soon be starting. For us Disney Adults, that is our first hint that Spring is near.
The Flower and Garden Festival begins in EPCOT on February 28th this year! Disney recently announced the festival booth menus and the returning Garden Graze food stroll, so we’re getting pretty eager for it to start. Through all of our park walks and all the new information Disney has shared, we’ve noticed that a couple of things are going to be totally different at this year’s Flower and Garden festival. Here’s what you need to know about these changes.
It’s Going to Be Shorter
Disney announced the 2024 Flower and Garden Festival opening date in December 2023. They then released the end date in mid-January 2024, and we were a little surprised.
The end date of the festival this year is May 27th! That means this festival is ending a whopping month before we would normally expect it to! Disney has cut the number of days way down for this year’s Flower and Garden Festival.
We have some mere speculations about why this festival has been shortened. We wonder if the Food and Wine Festival is going to start sooner than normal, or if they’re even possibly considering adding another festival during the downtime. Either way, the Flower and Garden Festival is shorter this year, so if you’re planning to visit, be sure to go by May 27th!
World Celebration Gardens
Something new is in EPCOT this year, and it seems incredibly perfect for the Flower and Garden Festival.
World Celebration Gardens is open for your relaxation and enjoyment! These gardens are like a peaceful park in a busy park. You can visit the ‘Walt the Dreamer’ statue or see amazing lights at night.
Another great addition to the new gardens is all the new seating options! These are generally great to have, but when you’re carrying around trays of festival snacks looking for a place to sit, they’re even better. The gardens offer cool bench seating…
…and new table seating areas.
They’ll be a game changer during the festivals. We have also spotted a kiosk in World Celebration Gardens that we expect to open for the Flower and Garden Festival.
No new food booths were announced, so we’re unsure what this new kiosk will be when it opens. But you know we’ll be watching to find out!
World Celebration Gardens are part of World Celebration (hence their name); also part of World Celebration are CommuniCore Plaza and CommuniCore Hall. These two areas are yet to open, but they will be festival headquarters in the future. So, Disney bringing festival items to the gardens certainly makes sense.
Lots of great food and experiences are returning to the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival! Even though it will be shorter and the World Celebration Gardens have been added, the same festival you know and love will be available.
We’re always wandering the parks looking for new updates, so keep following AllEars!
