Starting A Vegetable Garden
Many vegetables benefit from support, such as tomato plants on a trellis.
Vegetables can be planted by seed or from transplants purchased at a garden center.
Avoid tilling your vegetable garden as this damages the soil food web and disrupts the microorganisms that help plant roots absorb nutrients. Instead, amend the soil with compost and apply a mulch layer to reduce weeds.
