Starting A Vegetable Garden
The first step to getting your family eating fresh vegetables is to start a vegetable garden. Vegetables grow best in a location with good soil, lots of sun and easy access to water.
Plant a diverse mixture of vegetable types to produce a balanced harvest. Some plants, like tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers require more space than others.
LINCOLN – On Wednesday, March 22nd at 6:30 p.m., Lincoln Public Library, 145 Old River Road, will host a presentation on the basics of starting a vegetable garden by William Baddeley, a URI master gardener.
Vegetable gardening is an activity that requires some basic knowledge of what vegetable plants need to thrive, states a news release. Wednesday’s talk covers the basics and provides an orientation to life in the garden.
