Arizona governor moves to end farming deal with Saudi company

Typically, when people think of farming, they picture cattle and huge farm equipment. But, in reality, there are many more components to running a successful farm.

One of those pieces is determining your customer base. Another is finding land that is suitable for your crop. And a third is finding grant funding.

Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs has moved to end a farming deal with a subsidiary of a major Saudi dairy company. Since 2015, Fondomonte has pumped huge amounts of groundwater from beneath the earth’s surface to grow alfalfa in the rural Arizona desert. CBS News senior national and environmental correspondent Ben Tracy has more.
