Starting A Vegetable Garden
For the best harvest, veggies need lots of sun. Look for a spot that gets six to eight hours of sunlight a day.
Vegetables may be direct seeded or planted from transplants. Check with your university county coop extension agent for specifics.
Now that it’s officially summer, vacation season swings into high gear. That means gardeners will be leaving their yards in nature’s hands for a week or two – maybe more.
That can be risky for some plants (especially newly planted ones when the weather is hot and dry) but a boon for weeds.
