BRISTOW — Ruth Ann Harpenau, 85, passed away April 12, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Bristow April 27, 1937.
Ruth Ann was united in marriage Sept. 15, 1956, at St. Joe Catholic Church, in Bristow, to Hubert F. Harpenau.
She retired from General Electric after 26 years and was an active member of St. Isidore Catholic Church. Ruth Ann enjoyed vegetable gardening and always looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was known for her baking, especially her coconut pies.
Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Hubert F. Harpenau of Bristow; son, Craig Harpenau and wife, Sara, of Bristow; grandchildren, Samantha Hubert (Byron), Sidney Raetz (Billy) and Sloan Voges (Josh); great-grandchildren, Roman and June Hubert, Cooper Raetz (and expecting two more great-grandchildren in early summer); and a sister, Sandy Cassidy of Bristow.
Ruth Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Preston Fergason and Elsie (Esarey) and Homer McDaniel.
A Mass of Christian burial was Saturday, April 15, at St. Isidore Catholic Church. Rev. Luke Waugh officiated. Private burial took place in the church cemetery. Visitation was Friday at Huber Funeral Home, Tell City Chapel and Saturday at the church.
