Whether you’re digging, raking or planting, yard work is an amazing workout. The squatting, pushing, pulling and twisting movements are great for building muscle strength, improving posture and increasing flexibility.
Gardening is also a weight-bearing activity that strengthens bones and helps prevent osteoporosis, which affects more than 28 million Americans. It also boosts mood and reduces stress.
Regional Parks is excited to see everyone this summer come out to enjoy our family-friendly park events planned at Calico Ghost Town, Guasti, Glen Helen, Mojave Narrows, Prado and Yucaipa Regional Parks.
Fill the summer days by learning how to garden or practice yoga, or bring the kids to play games or create something fun with arts & crafts throughout the afternoon (all supplies provided, while they last). If you prefer to experience the park after dark, bring the family for a movie and popcorn.
The events are included with the price of park admission and are free for campers staying with us. Regional Parks is also pet-friendly. For more information, visit parks.sbcounty.gov or follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
