TikTok user Anna (@annalanier2) showed her followers how she uses coffee and cloves to keep ants off of her plants.
“Bugs and mosquitos hate the smell of coffee. I am going to sprinkle it around the outside of my house. Guess what? It smells great,” she explained in her video.


The gardening enthusiast demonstrated how much ground coffee she sprinkles across her lawn.
In a second clip, Anna showed viewers how ants react when you place cloves in your flowerbed.
“Ants can’t stand the smell of cloves,” the green-thumbed TikToker explained.
The content creator filmed the tiny bugs inspecting and then quickly avoiding the spice buds.
