Growing your own veggies is rewarding, but it does take some work. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be overwhelming.
Start by selecting a sunny spot, close to a water source. Vegetables need sun to kick-start photosynthesis and grow quickly.
CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. (Aug. 24, 2023) – A backyard vegetable growing workshop is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 16?at Centennial Park Recreation Center located at 1120 Centennial Blvd., Port Charlotte. This program is sponsored by UF/IFAS Extension Charlotte County and will cover the basics of vegetable gardening and pests.
The workshop will focus on practical information which can be put to use immediately in the homeowner’s backyard.??There is a $5 fee to cover the cost of materials. Registration is open online at?www.tinyurl.com/ycypjhnc.
