Recent rains and warm temperatures have led to a plethora of issues and diseases taking hold in home gardens across the region. Just as plants begin to yield a bounty of ripened zucchini, tomatoes, and other produce – they show signs of stress, distress, and even death. The Extension office has received numerous questions regarding tomato, cucumber, and other pests and problems of edible crops in the past week.

With the influx of issues, we will be holding a pop-up garden diagnostics session at the Extension office next Wednesday, August 2 beginning at 6:30 pm. You are welcome to bring your questions, plant samples, insect samples, or just come to learn more about issues you may encounter. The program will begin with a short introduction about diagnostics followed by questions and answers with live samples. The program is free and open to all.
