IRISH customers have been warned to avoid batches of garden peas sold in Tesco over safety fears.
The ‘Growers Harvest Garden Peas’ was pulled from shelves over the possible contamination of an unknown type of berry.
The possible contamination of an unknown type of berry makes this product unsafe to eat.
Consumers have been advised by the Food Safety Authority not to eat the batch.
The best-before dates of the affected batches are January, February, March, and April, with the year 2025.
The affected batches have a code: 23196-200, 23237-40, 23256-61 and 23275-77.

The batches come in a 900g pack size.
How many products from the affected batch were sold in Ireland is unknown.
Tesco has removed the affected batches from sale and displayed recall notices at point-of-sale.
Customers will be able to bring the affected products to the supermarket in exchange for a full refund.

The FSAI said in a statement: “Tesco are recalling the above batches of Growers Harvest Garden Peas 900g due to the possible contamination of an unknown type of berry, which may therefore pose a risk to customers, if consumed.
“Retailers are requested to remove the implicated batches from sale and display recall notices at point-of-sale.
“Consumers are advised not to eat the implicated batches.”
KIDS’ LIFE JACKETS URGENT RECALL
Separately, hundreds of kids’ life jackets are being recalled in Ireland due to a “safety issue”.
The Swimbubs flotation devices were sold to Irish customers through Amazon.
According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, the affected products with whale and dolphin prints “present a risk of drowning”.
A notice reads: “A safety issue has been identified with a Swimbubs Float Jacket Buoyancy Aid sold on Amazon.
“The product presents a risk of drowning as it may not perform as expected when relied upon to protect a user from harm in the water.
“The product was sold online through Amazon.
“There are approximately 580 affected products in the Republic of Ireland which were sold between May 2019 to October 2023.”
Anyone who purchased one of the jackets is asked to “discontinue use immediately”.
