Fall is the perfect season to start on your homesteading projects! Digging a root cellar, planting a nursery, and working on all those inspired pallet projects are all fun activities to do during the fall.

The Broadwater Vikings traveled to Chincoteague Friday, Aug. 25, and defeated the Ponies, 26-24.
Broadwater got its offense started when quarterback Logan Hickman connected with Rufus Abbott for a 70-yard touchdown. Jacob Seltzer ran in for the 2-point conversion to make the score, 8-0.
Later, Broadwater’s Eli Destro returned a kickoff 65 yards for a touchdown.
Hickman connected with Abbott for two more touchdown passes.
Hickman went 13 for 21, passing for 266 yards and three touchdowns.
For Chincoteague, Jordan Harper threw for 106 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 101 yards and two touchdowns.
Johnathan Holloway had 76 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Jake Harper had 66 yards receiving.
Garrett Daisey and Izid Tountas had four tackles each for Chincoteague. Broadwater defensive stars included Luke Duer, John Lewis, Quinn Ames, Caleb McIntyre, Luke Young, and Olsen Pruitt.
